First got into firearms May of 2016, with the purchase of a Glock 22 Gen 3. Since then, have bought a few other pistols - a Springfield 1911 Marine Corp Operator, a Beretta PX4 Storm in 9mm, an M&P Shield in 9mm, a Glock 19 Gen 3 and a Glock 34 Gen 3. Still, I always tend to either the 1911 or the Glocks for plinking.
In November of 2016, decided to participate in my first official match with my Glock 22, albeit non-IDPA - the West SoCal GSSF Autumn Match at Burro Canyon, CA. Placed 54th out of 129 participants in the Amateur Civilian division. In April 2017, got the opportunity to again compete during the Spring match, this time with my Glock 19. I placed 22nd out of 133 in the Amateur Civilian, and 31st out of 107 in the Amateur Competition.
In late May 2017, finally decided to try my hands at IDPA and got myself the Glock 34. I participated in my first club match at Prado, CA with CA IDPA Shooters, which I think I did decently well. Upon prodding of some shooters, I tried out for the Classifier Match a week later, and finish with a time of 120.64 which places me in the middle-Sharpshooter tier for SSP.
As of current - I'm a certified NRA Range Safety Officer and a Glock Armorer, and looking forward to getting certified as an NRA Pistol Instructor and an IDPA Safety Officer.
